Sessions are conducted through a secure and fully encrypted video platform. Once your appointment is booked, you will receive a private link and instructions on logging in before your session. All you need is a quiet space, a stable internet connection, and a device with a camera and microphone.
Conducting sessions online allows couples to access professional support without travel, making therapy more flexible and accessible - especially for busy professionals, parents, long-distance couples, or partners living in different locations.
-
Yes. Research consistently shows that online therapy can be highly effective for relationship concerns when delivered by qualified clinicians. Many couples find that attending sessions from a location they choose helps them feel more relaxed, open, and able to integrate what they learn into daily life more naturally.

We see the biggest strides forward in a couple’s relationship when we work with all parties together, however, there may occasionally be situations where individual sessions are clinically appropriate as part of the broader therapeutic process. Any individual sessions are conducted transparently and ethically within the context of the relationship work. If individual work is needed or appropriate for your relationship work you clinician will discuss this with you both openly and provide you with a clear reason as to why this is being recommended.
-
This is very common. Many people feel nervous about starting counselling, especially if they worry about blame or judgement. Our approach is collaborative, balanced, and non-shaming. Therapy is not about deciding who is “right” or “wrong,” but about helping both partners better understand themselves, each other, and the patterns affecting the relationship.
-
Due to the costs involved in counselling we try to restrict most couples sessions to approximately 60 minutes. However the ideal amount of time for a couples session is 75 – 90 minutes. This is because it gives everyone a chance to have their say and be heard and reduces the chance of having to end a session at a crucial juncture. If sessions are regularly run long or your clinician notes that there is often not enough time to allow both partners to fully explore the issue that is being discussed, they may suggest extended sessions to ensure that therapy remains effective and helpful.
For couples that are very restricted with their time, or where getting some headway fast is crucial, we are also able to arrange intensive half day or whole day marathon sessions. There is a growing evidence base to suggest that beginning the therapeutic journey with 1 or 2 marathon sessions can be very effective in helping a couple to get back on track with one another quickly.
-
This depends on your goals, the complexity of the issues involved, and how frequently you attend. Some couples benefit from short-term focused work, while others prefer longer-term support to create deeper and more sustainable change. Typically we will start with longer and/or more frequent sessions and then aim to have fewer sessions with longer space between as time goes on. Reducing support over time in this way has been shown to support couples to continue to use the skills and strategies moving forward, reducing relapse and ensuring that your relationship stays satisfying over the long term.
-
Yes. We work with couples across Ireland, Australia, the UK, and internationally. Online therapy allows us to support couples in most locations, including partners living in different countries or time zones.
All of our clinicians are registered with their appropriate local professional association and any feedback or complaints about professional behaviours will be dealt with internally and also reported to the professional association in the clinician’s country of residence.
All of our clinicians carry indemnity insurance that covers them for online work with clients internationally.
There are some circumstances in which online therapy is not an appropriate option, if this is the case your clinician talk you through why and we will do our upmost to provide recommendations for some appropriate alternative services local to you.
